Why is it needed?
While most of our customers simply use our service to shop their products from Germany some are trying to misuse it to forward items that have been paid using stolen payment information or hacked accounts.
Identity verification helps us to identify fraudulent transactions and thereby protect merchants and customers alike.
Why is this only needed at ShipGerman?
The simple answer is: it's not.
Most of our competitors will not tell you about it as upfront as we do while still requesting you to upload a picture of your ID card when ordering - with the downside of them storing it themselves and running it through a manual review process. With our service the identification is secure, fully automatic and takes less than 30 seconds.
How does it work?
How is my data processed?
We take the protection of your data very seriously, especially when it is about your identity data. Our partner for verifying your identity is Veriff, a well-known and trusted KYC provider. They will securely store your data and only transmit the status of your verification to our system. Of course your data will never be disclosed to third parties.
